Identification, Friend or Foe

The Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF) feature notifies a player of the team affiliation of the player their tagger is aimed at.

If the player is aiming at someone on their own team (a friend), their tagger will make a poonk-poonk-poonk sound. If they are aiming at someone on an opposing team (a foe), their tagger will make a bee-bee-beep, bee-bee-beep sound.

This feature uses beacons emitted from the dome of the taggers and may not work at long range. The same beacons are used for proximity alerts. When an enemy is near a player, the player's tagger will say "danger". IFF and proximity alerts are not supported by the Phoenix LTX.
